Friends and family, I have some exciting news! As most of you may already know, last summer I got to spend a month in Haiti serving with Back2Back Ministries as an intern! Well, I am so so so excited to announce that I get to go back and spend another summer serving in my favorite place, Haiti!! Back2Back ministries is an organization that partners with local orphanages and seeks to meet every child’s educational, physical, spiritual, social, and emotional needs. As an intern, I would be assisting the Back2Back Haiti staff with the behind-the-scenes tasks of hosting a summer full of short-term mission teams. I loved every second of my previous summer serving with Back2Back and learned what it means to be a servant, and learned about God’s faithfulness. I also developed life-long friendships with my fellow interns, and developed meaningful relationships with the staff, the staff kids, and the children at the orphanages. I am so thankful to have another opportunity to go back and would love if you could help support me by buying a t-shirt! Prayers upon prayers are so important and are much needed! So, if you could support me in prayer I would appreciate that as well! 

Now that I’ve shared the story behind the fundraiser, I would like to explain the story behind my t-shirt design. For me, the college transition was anything but easy. In fact, it was harder than I thought it would be, and because of that I got to learn a little more about God and the way He sees you and I. I go to college 8 hours away from all my loved ones and from my childhood best friends. My childhood best friends knew everything about me and still loved me. They were people I did not have to worry about being myself around, because I knew that they accepted me for who I was. So, the idea of leaving them behind and going to a place where no one knew me was a scary thought. As college began, I found myself trying hard to fit in, make friends, and make this unknown place feel a little more like home. But trying to force friendships led to a lot of nights where I felt lonely, unwanted, or unloved. One day I picked up a book called “Uninvited- Living Loved When You Feel Less Than, Left Out, and Lonely” by Lysa Terkeurst. In this book, she talks about the idea of “living loved”. The bible tells us that we are fully known and fully loved by God. Jesus knows every hair on our head and every thought and feeling you and I have ever had and He STILL loves us. On top of that, He doesn’t just love us a little bit, but He completely and FULLY loves us. With that being said, "living loved" is dwelling in the fact that we are fully known and fully loved by the King of Kings. The idea that I am fully known and fully loved has given me the comfort to be myself in college and has allowed me to love others more freely. My goal for this t-shirt is that it would be a reminder for you and I that we are fully known and fully loved by the King of Kings.
