In September 2016 I applied for a service trip to Peru through a non profit called JOY which stands for the justification of youth. In an attempt to raise money for this trip I designed these shirts.

These shirts mean a lot to me. This has been a monetarily stressful few months. Rasing large amounts of money is a daunting task but when you have to do it within a short amount of time it can seem almost immpossible. These shirts were my reminder that this trip should not be another inconvience in my life, rather a blessing and something that should bring joy to me. In other words, they taught me how to find joy in the journey. I have truly leaned on God these past months and learned to be faithful that he will provide for me in whatever way I might need. It has made my realtionship with the Lord stronger and I have learned to become more reliant upon him and for that I am so grateful. 

I sarted selling these shirts for the sole reason of covering the expenses of my trip. Now, as my trip is approaching and I no longer have a monetary need to sell these shirts, I now feel a differnt kind of need. I would love to be able to sell these shirts and donate all of the proceeds to JOY, the nonprofit that is allowing me to go on this service trip. JOY focuses on orphaned and at-risk children in impoverished countries. 

I know I won't make huge amounts of money from selling these shirts and that's not my goal (although how cool would that be). I just hope to make a small differnce in the lives of these children. I haven't even traveled to Peru yet but I already feel the Lord using me to work in their lives. My goal is to love these children well and show them the love Jesus has for them along the way.
