When my sister Liza embarked on this journey we all knew it was going to be a long and difficult path. But we never anticipated how scary this roller coaster ride would be! It has now been over 40 days in the hospital with many unexpected complications and lots of uncertainty about what lies ahead. All these extra hospital days have added more than just emotional stress for Liza, Thom (her partner) and the 3 kids they have between them. While they accounted for the usual recovery time, there was no plan B for what has happened. This led me to look for creative ways to help Liza and Thom buffer the blows of the added expenses and financial stresses.
