Designer: helping hand

I was 19 when enlisted in to the army, one year fresh out of highschool on to a exciting future. 18 months later i found out that my grandmother has had breast cancer for years and my family was just now telling me they couldnt bare to tell me since i was going off over seas they didnt want it on my mind. Day and night in my bunk it went over an over in my head how could i have not known i spend almost every weekend with her taking her for long walks in the park cleaning her yard she look so strong didnt show no sign of weakness. i went to see her on my month break at the hospital and ask her crying so hard why she never told me she said " i was being strong for the both of us now its your  turn" she died 2 months later i thought the pain would never go away i fought with the anger in my heart that she was taken from me in every mission that was gave to me and my plattoon. And the worse was only to come 3 years later i found out that my mother was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer i must of have ran 4 miles before i came to my senses thinking i could out fun the horror that took away my grandmother an now here it was again to take away another person i loved. year after year my mother fought strong with her battle she was a true solider stronger than i could have ever been in july, 8- 2012 she was taken from me her last words to me was " you have to be strong i asked her how could i be she then replied not only for her but for the world that was when i started united we stand , united we win
