The Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks, founded in 1868, is one of the oldest and largest fraternal organizations in the country. The order has grown to more than one million men and women in over 1800 communities. The Redondo Beach Elks Lodge was the 1378th Lodge to be chartered in our country and will celebrate its 100th Anniversary in 2019.
The Elks Order is a non-profit, volunteer organization that depends on its membership to perform charitable work such as:
· Providing support for our Veterans
· Medical Assistance for Children
· Donations to the Homeless
· Recognition of local Police, Fire and First Responders
· Student Scholarships, Hoop Shoots National Free Throw Competition, Drug Awareness Programs
· Special Olympics
We are proud to be members of the Redondo Beach Elks Lodge 1378, whose survival for the past 100 years is a testimony to its success. Our priority is to serve the needs of others and we are resolved in our continuing efforts to provide funding, goods and volunteers to meet those ongoing needs. However, the Lodge itself is now in need. A weeklong series of events will be held to commemorate our Centennial Anniversary with invitations going out to Residents of the Local Communities, Civic Leaders, Chamber of Commerce Members, Congressional Representatives and fellow Elks Members and Dignitaries from District, State and Grand Lodges. Events may include an open house, BBQs, pancake breakfast, dinners, cocktail mixers, musical entertainment and a black tie ball, for examples. We will be honoring the memory of our absent members, Past Exalted Rulers, Deers Presidents and Grand Lodge attendees. A 100 Year Book will be published containing the History of Redondo Beach Elks Lodge 1378, 1919-2019.
Therefore, we are asking for your help. We have a projected need of $30,000.00 in donations and this fundraiser is one of many that will help us reach that goal. 100% of the donations collected from this fundraiser will go directly towards our 100th ANNIVERSARY in the year 2019.
