We are an informal group of women in the midwest who love to mountain bike. One of our girlfriends, Chelsea, is going through a difficult divorce.
Recently, in a cruel act, her ex stole her mountain bike and destroyed it. Chelsea is absolutely heartbroken.
Our friend says, “She was my first real bike and I loved her so much. I know it may sound silly but I cried. I didn’t even get to tell her thank you and goodbye.”
At this point, we - her riding buddies - knew we needed to do something to counteract this horrible incident.
Legal fees for the divorce proceedings are steep, and she cannot afford a new bike at this time. Riding with friends and family is something Chelsea loves, and it will help keep her stress level down.
We miss riding with our girl Chelsea, and her three children miss riding with her, too!
Please help us get Chelsea back on the trails with a new (or used) mountain bike as soon as possible!
One of our cycling friends, an artist, drew this beautiful tee-shirt design just for the fundraiser, of a woman rider with wings and heart, a “bike angel”. She’s captured that feeling we have of flying on the bike! Riding a mountain bike makes us feel powerful, like we can soar over any obstacle.
We know Chelsea will rise above this difficult and heartbreaking event in her life. All of us are here to support her, with love.
