Full story
In April of 2016 I volunteered at the Kathmandu Animal Treatment Center in Kathmandu, Nepal. I fell in love with Nepal! However the City of Kathmandu has a major issue with stay dogs. There are over 22,000 dogs that live on the streets. Rabies, among many other disease, is a major problem for the residents of Kathmandu.
In the whole city there is only ONE centre where animals can get the help that they desperately need and that's the Kathmandu Animal Treatment Centre. This small group of dedicated individuals are helping to rid Kathmandu of diseases from street dogs and also help control the ever growing population of street dogs through their Animal Birth Control Program. Also, dogs who have been mistreated or are in need of medical assistance are taken to the centre, either by caring locals, or captured by KAT Centre workers. These caring individual are risking their safety for the animals.
Recently an extremely emaciated dog was brought to the KAT Centre. Because of his malnourishment he was skin and bones. This beautiful boy was affectional named Dobby because of his skinny nature and ::ehem:: rather large ears. (Which I totally love). Over the internet I fell in love with this handsome guy. In the last month the KAT Centre has been working hard to get him back to a healthy weight and have done so quite successfully.
Now it’s time to get him home!! MY home! By purchasing a shirt you will be helping Dobby get to his forever home, in NY, USA! Also, who doesn’t want to show off their rescue pride! Don't have a dog? No problem! By purchasing this shirt YOU are becoming and Animal Rescuer!Three shirt styles are available: Mens, Womens cut, and child sizes! There's something for everyone!
After the funds are raised to get Dobby to America any additional funds raise (fingers crossed this happens) will be used for 2 purposes. Half of any additional funds will go towards my return visit to Nepal so I can volunteer with the KAT Centre again and the other half will go directly to the KAT Centre. They are always in desperate need for fund, especially since they have officially purchased land for a PERMINANT facility.
Please help Dobby and all of the animals of Nepal by purchasing a shirt!
Please note, shirts will not be sent until the end of the campaign on September 24th.
