Annie is a mom, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, friend and longtime teacher. In early March 2017 Annie, at 35 years young, was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer. She had noticed a lump in her left breast, after a bunch of tests doctors discovered another lump in the same area. Both were cancerous. At this point in time, the cancer has not spread anywhere else in her body so they can label her cancer as stage II. Chemo treatments began at Beth Israel Deaconess in Plymouth on Thursday, March 23, 2017. Chemo will continue every two weeks for 12 weeks as long as Annie's vital signs and white blood cell numbers look good. After chemo Annie will undergo a double mastectomy with reconstruction at Boston Medical Center in Boston. After surgery and recovery Annie will have 4 months of outpatient radiation at Boston Medical Center. It is a long, grueling, expensive road. She is blessed to have an amazing support system that has engulfed her and her family. They will need us to be strong and present for some time. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
