Full story
Everything we create is Art.
In preschool, we learn to do our own fingerpaintings and other forms of Art. We might get help at that stage, but whatever we come up with is our own creation, our idea. As small children, we are very proud of our Art, and we can't wait to show it to Mom so she can display on the refrigerator or at her office.
As we get a little older, we seem to have less time for Art, aside from an Art class that may not be mandatory or only lasts for a school semester. Once you are an adult, there is a chance you might never touch Art again.
Unless Art is your favorite thing to do, as it is mine, you may not even realize that it is the greatest form of self-expression, especially if you are not always certain of how or whether you should speak your feelings out loud. This is especially true for kids my age, preteens, and lasts all the way to adulthood.
My purpose is to help other girls be able to express themselves through Art. The funny thing is, you don't have to "be good at Art" to be good at Art! Whatever you create will be your design, unique to you, and will belong to you. If you want it to say something about you, that's great. If you don't, then guess what? It still says something about you. You are expressing yourself even if you didn't intend to.
My goal is to help girls express themselves through Art on purpose.
Thank you.
