Ashton an amazing, compassionate 10 year old boy that was diagnosed with Hepatoblastoma(liver cancer) in June 2017. He has been receiving chemo since and received a life saving liver transplant in September. He continues to recover and receive chemo. He and his family have been away from home receiving treatment since June 9th. We are fundraising to assist with medical expenses and the cost of treatment away from home.

Ashton is doing so much better now than just a month ago. Daily he seems more like himself. Unfotunately, he does still have more chemo to endure. The terrible thing about chemo treatment is as soon as you start healing up, its time for another round. Ashton is so ready to return to a more normal life and to be able to hang out with his friends again. He has come a very long way, but still has a way to go and a life of follow up.

Ashton is is taking longer between each chemo treatment to recover as chemo is accumulative so it is uncertain when his treatments will be finished. He will have to follow up monthly with his transplant team and oncology team for an extended period of time after his chemo treatments finish. The family will have to travel out of state monthly.  He will also need weekly labs to monitor his new liver. There are so many expenses that you incur doing lengthy treatments away from home and having a condition that will always need to be monitored- the hospital bills, food staying in the hospital, travel expenses so the whole family can be together for a few days every few weeks, medicine co-pays, durable medical equipment and feed expenses, travel expenses to and from appts. and the list goes on.
