During the Haunting Halloween event, a new Call of Duty update makes it easier to gather souls in both Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone. Call of Duty fans can get Halloween-themed prizes for a short time by capturing other players' souls.
On October 17, the mid-season update for Season 6 of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone came out, and The Haunting started. During The Haunting, players can play in special modes in both of the newest Call of Duty games for a short time and earn cool rewards that they can use in Modern Warfare 3. The Haunting's Soul Capture event is especially interesting because it lets players take enemy players' souls after killing them. You can save these souls up to get items from the Soul Capture event shop, like weapon skins, stickers, double weapon XP tokens, and charms. However, a low drop rate and a cap on the number of souls that could be collected per match caused some problems for many Call of Duty players.
After getting some bad feedback, the official Call of Duty Updates Twitter account says that a new fix for Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone is now live. The new Call of Duty update raised the number of souls that could be dropped and the number that could be dropped per fight. This made it easier for players to collect a lot of souls quickly during the Soul Capture event. It is said by some players that the soul match cap has been raised to 18 in Slope Game, 25 in Warzone's DMZ and Resurgence modes, and 30 in regular battle royale games. In The Haunting's limited-time games, you can only use 25 souls per match.
The Call of Duty community seems to have mixed feelings about the update as a whole, since some of the best prizes still need a lot of souls. For instance, the moving Ghoulie skin in Modern Warfare 2 costs 1,000 souls, and some players think the update should have come out sooner. The Haunting ends on November 6, giving players about two weeks to earn souls and get their prizes before Modern Warfare 3 comes out.
Even though some rewards take a lot of souls, the new update for Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone should help people who want to dress up for Halloween with gear that fits the theme. Because the map is smaller in the popular Shipment 24/7 game mode, souls may drop faster, but in Modern Warfare 2, it's up to each player and their favorite game types.
Modern Warfare 3 will come out on November 10, just four days after The Haunting ends on November 6. Call of Duty players have about two weeks to earn souls and get their rewards while Activision and Sledgehammer Games finish up final preparations for the start of Modern Warfare 3's campaign early access and the full game.
