"But don't EVER give up. Life is waiting for you." Erida has battled cystic fibrosis her entire life and her only hope of survival was a double-lung transplant, which she finally got the call for in July, 2017. Her lungs were so severely damaged that the surgeon and his team had to scrape her left lung out of her chest cavity. That alone almost killed her at 21 years old. Within just six months of receiving the lifesaving transplant, Erida faced a rare form of chronic rejection, RAS, in which survival rates are significantly worse than any other form of chronic rejection. She has been re-listed for a second double-lung transplant that will save her life a second time. This is what CF looks like. Erida has inspired me to raise funds for the CF Foundation and I hope you can help us reach our goal!
