My daughter Katlyn was 20 years old when she was killed by a drunk driver. Kate along with some friends were on their way home from the movies on their motorcycles when a drunk driver decided to cross the center line. A few of the motorcycles were able to swerve but Kate and her boyfriend were not able to. The accident happened on 6/22/13 and Kate fought for her life for 4 days. After 2 surgeries of removing both sides of her skull for brain swelling; on 6/26/13 Katlyn lost her fight. She was an outgoing young woman. Her #1 thing in life was her family. Her other loves were her friends, Nibbs her horse and the outdoors.

I am participating in Walk Like MADD to raise mission critical funds for Mothers Against Drunk Driving® (MADD) to put an end to the 100 percent preventable crime of drunk driving. Walk Like MADD provides an outlet for those impacted by drunk driving to channel their grief into hope and healing and provides communities the chance to surround and support those hurting by taking action to prevent others from suffering because of drunk driving.
