Big Corn Island is about 70 kms (44 miles) off the coast of Bluefields, Nicaragua, with a population of 7000-8000 people. The island is approximately 10 square kilometres in total size, (just under 4 square miles) and the beauty of this tropical, quiet island will take your breath away! A laborer's wage is $1 US per hour, and many residents cannot afford proper veterinary care and food for their animals.

Tourism here has been very slow in 2020 and 2021, and many families are without work or income. Many animals wander the streets scrounging for food scraps in garbage bins. 50% of the proceeds from this campaign (May 2021) will go to feeding stray/starving dogs on Big Corn Island, and the other 50% will go to helping a Big Corn Island family.
