I was born and raised in Grand County, Colorado. Grand County is made up of several tight knit small town's that were amazing to grow up in. I still have several family members and friends that live up there, and I live close enough to be able to come up and visit often. My parents still live in the house they built and raise four children in. I went to high school in Granby and Grand Lake was "the place" to hang out in the summer. When the East Troublesome fire recently struck Grand County it was heartbreaking and devastating. I, like everyone who grew up there, and those still living up there, watched in horror as our beloved communities became surrounded by fire. Then when it was known that there had been loss of life, loss of homes, livelihoods, belongings, animals displaced and suffering, it became even more heartbreaking. Alot of us were feeling helpless so we decided to do something for those most affected. Growing up in a small town, small county, everyone knows everyone. There becomes a special, life long bond, we are family. We have always been there for each other and always will.
