On April 16th, a devastating earthquake with a 7.8 magnitude struck Ecuador. There have been over 525 deaths and over 4,000 injured, with 20,000 left homeless. These numbers are increasing daily.
For our family it has been heart wrenching to witness the widespread devastation of our country from so far away. We are raising funds for Fundacíon KOINONÍA, an Ecuador based non-profit, to help with relief efforts.

On Saturday, April 16th, an earthquake with a 7.8 magnitude, the worst in its history, struck the northwest part of Ecuador. The epicenter was in the city of Muisne, Esmeraldas, and many coastal cities of the country felt the impact of this disastrous event. There have been over 500 aftershocks in the days that followed, the strongest coming in with a magnitude of 6.1.
Though the true extent of the devastation cannot yet be measured, it has been incredibly moving to see the solidarity that the whole world has shown to Ecuador. It is even more astonishing how its own people have come together to do everything they can to start restoring our country. Many people have even put their lives on hold to go help out in the affected areas.
For our family it has been heart wrenching to witness the widespread devastation of our country from so far away. We have taken it upon ourselves to raise funds to help with relief efforts, because as you know every little bit helps.
All profits from the sale of these shirts will go to Fundacíon KOINONÍA, a non-profit organization involved with humanitarian social work based in Sangolqui, Ecuador. They have put all hands on deck to help those affected by the earthquake. They are currently collecting and distributing medicine, food, clothing and other necessary items to those most affected.
