"What's a Hero."
Greetings. My name is Joshua Aaron Runk. I am a composer from the state of Rhode Island in the United States. This fundraiser is to support Homes For Our Troops.
Here's why...
This June I released a separate single titled "Hero". An extended version was released in October without any lyrical cuts. I tried to compose a song throughout the last two studio albums for No Angels in Providence to speak about the amazing individuals that sacrifice home, family, and comfort for a life that trains a body and emotions to help people all over the world through the most difficult and unexpected circumstances.
My Grandfather Robert J. Hartle, Sr. was a Veteran of the Second World War. He sat with me to talk about his time serving in the United States Navy during the war once when I was 29 years old. He shared pictures of his time aboard the USS Ira Jeffery and a story about his relationship with his fellow shipmates. I understood why his words were short and respected his wishes to dedicate our last time together being a Grandfather. By that time in my life, most of the Veterans I've known or spoken with shared one common emotion. Appreciation of time.
The "Forever Hero" hoodie and hat were created to help campaign and raise support that will help the future of wounded Veterans.
"What is a hero?" Those words are my empathy musically. I have listened to Veterans speak of things that leave no doubt about how precious time is to each.
I hope to reach the goal of this fundraiser for the Veterans that find help through Homes For Our Troops. Donations will support physical and emotional assistance for our Veterans.
The proceeds raised go to Homes For Our Troops.
