The International Marine Mammal Project is an organization that aims to improve marine life worldwide. One of their main campaigns that I decided to focus my design towards was their goal of freeing whales and dolphins from captivity. They have been able to close or prevent the construction of dolphinariums around the world by creating proposals and seeking legislation that would stop this action. Seaworld is a huge issue for marine life that has been exploited through movies such as Blackfish. Despite this exploitation, companies continue to keep these animals in captivity where the living conditions are not adequate for these social, intelligent, and wide-ranging animals. Currently, IMMP encourages people not to purchase tickets to see these animals. This organization takes action by signing petitions, sending letters to those in charge of the opposition, and accepting donations.
