Full story

Since June 20, 2015, #HairlessNation has worked with Marley's Mutts Dog Rescue to rescue, rehabilitate and adopt neglected hairless dogs. Our hope is that by sharing their stories, others will be motivated to adopt dogs from rescues or shelters and give them another chance at an amazing life

MASTER SPLINTER

Master Splinter is a 13 year old rescue from Kern Valley that is blind, partially deaf due to tick infestation in his ears, hairless due to testicular cancer and Cushing’s disease, deteriorated paw pads due to infection from his habitat, a six pound tumor connected to his spleen and testicular cancer. Marley’s Mutts Dog Rescue rescued Splinter from the Kern County Shelter on March 29, 2015 and raised $17,000 dollars from their loyal fans to get Splinter the medical attention he needed and ready for his forever home at Hairless Nation.

PENELOPE ROSE

Pea is a 10 year old Miniature Dachshund rescued from Southern California that is hairless due to alopecia and suffers from chronic skin irritation and abscesses. Pea was an owner surrender and spent over three years in shelters or foster homes. When no one came forward to offer her a forever home, Marley’s Mutts teamed up with Hairless Nation to give her that forever home that would provide the love and medical support needed to heal her wounds.

MISS OLIVE

Olive is a 10 year old Chinese Crested that was owner surrendered in Bakersfield with a host of issues including three large oozing skin abscesses, secondary skin infections everywhere, what looks like a chemical burn on her shoulder, an infected, blind budging eye, two fused vertebrae, broken ankle and chronic upper respiratory issues. Chinese Crested are notorious for skin issues, but left unprotected, untreated and neglected the end result looks like this. She will need glaucoma, anti-inflammatory and pain medication for the rest of her life.

Splinter, Penelope and Olive’s lives now are filled with companionship, love and adventure. What more could these “throw away” dogs ask for? Our hope is that by sharing his story, others will be motivated to adopt dogs from rescues or shelters and give them another chance at an amazing life.

All proceeds from your purchase today go towards Hairless Nation’s extensive medical care fund!
