We here at the Phoenix Leadership Center understand that it is not just the parent serving our nation that is the hero.

A parent chooses to serve, and we are forever grateful for that decision, however, the children do not have a choice.  Many changes and stresses come into play, such as relocating, at times away from family, friends, and their current support system and add to this the not knowing if their loved one will come home, makes life even more stressful.

Many parents find themselves playing the “Single Parent” role which is unfamiliar territory and if the spouse serving is a new recruit, financial concerns arise quickly.

PLC’s Heroes of Heroes project will focus on providing assistance to military families with deployed service members in all branches of the US Military (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, National Guard, and Reserves).  This support will range from helping families with school supplies, scholarships for camps, repairs around the home, resources for financial aid, and other assistance.

Heroes of Heroes will also network with other nonprofit organizations and local businesses to provide more resources and to expand the services needed to support these families.

Remember, when an American chooses to serve our country, their whole family services with them, and that sacrifice makes all military families heroes too.

We hope you will join us in serving these heroes and letting them know how much we appreciate their sacrifice and that of their loved ones. Help us to remind them that they are not alone.
