Addison Cory is a 24 year old young man who loves the Lord, his family, and all others with incredible selflessness and commitment. He is an athletic dude, who graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in May of 2017 with his BS in Exercise Science Kinesiology. Neither Addison nor anyone who is blessed to know him could have imagined that a short six months later he would be suddenly and quite dramatically hit with a gnarly neurological illness. This illness, which involves Addison's cells attacking his central nervous system, would cause him to lose the ability to walk, and to struggle with motions and sensation in his hands and feet alongside non-motor symptoms like double vision, difficulty breathing, a weakened immune system, etc.
Since the beginning of this difficult journey, Addison and his family have moved from Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, to the Mayo Clinic St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota, to Minneapolis, MN, where they are currently. Addison has gone through multiple rounds of various treatments including intense chemo therapy, and is working hard in rehabilitation to improve his motor functioning-with some successes-praise God! Through it all, Addison has chosen to honor God and has unwittingly blessed those around him through his perseverance and tender-heartedness, though it has been far from easy to do so. He is a man of strong character, making his supporters proud to journey in prayer and support with him "in the eye of the storm".
