Full story

After a  notable decline in Sasha‘s health this summer, sweet 9 year old Sasha was incorrectly diagnosed with pancreatitis, and a UTI. Tests, ER visits, and medication, totaled $1200. Now that Sasha has been correctly diagnosed with Cushing’s disease (difficult to diagnose, we are told) each Cushing’s test is $308, and new meds are $280 a month. Total medical bills are currently exceeding $3800.

What could make this worse? July 22 Sasha‘s dad, Chad, broke his collarbone, and popped his shoulder out of joint. Chad installs heavy equipment  for a living, and since this incident did not happen at work, there is no compensation, or income. Sasha‘s family also includes her mom, Sue, and four-legged siblings, border collie mix Juno, and cats Decker and Vader. Sue is working long days and trying to stay positive about so much, for both Chad and Sasha. Chad’s shoulder is at about 30% so there is no date at this time for him to return to work.

Team Sasha created this GoFundMe to raise enough money to wipe out  these mounting vet bills, and create a small stash for a couple of months medication.  October 18, Sasha‘s vet visit revealed that her Cushing’s is not improving as it had been, and all of the important numbers in the new report exceed the “high” range. This will mean more future tests every time her meds change.

The history behind Chad, Sasha, and their passion for rescue, animals, and especially Australian Cattle Dogs is this:   In 2014 Chad & Sasha organized a gathering of ACD’s at a state park just outside central Ohio.  22 humans and 25 cattle dogs attended. Since then, through social media groups promoting the awareness of the breed, The Annual Cattle Dog Campout evolved! This year there were over 100 humans and 100 ACDs. Chad & Sasha have donated their time, love and passion of rescue, and bonded with dogs and humans far near. Sasha is always the kindest sweetheart, and the perfect ambassador at events, greeting humans politely, and respecting the bubble of her four-legged friends who like to have their own space.

Team Sasha would like to show Sasha and her family the love by wiping out these vet bills, relieving a lot of stress, and praying for Sasha‘s health. To each person reading this post, THANK YOU!  To everyone who shares this post, THANK YOU!  We, all of us, can become a member of Team Sasha and help bring some relief to her family. Please consider a donation to this very real cause. Any amount helps us reach the goal. THANK YOU from Sasha, and THANK YOU from Team Sasha!
