Several weeks ago LAHT was contacted about some animals being used in laboratory testing that needed to be placed so that they wouldn’t be euthanized.

It has been an exhausting experience but to date, the group of rescues participating in their liberation have been able to pull 23 rabbits, 16 guinea pigs and 1 rat. The animals had been shaved, tested on and have sores from having very little space to move around. Some are extremely fearful and will take some time before being ready to go to a forever homeWe wanted to wait until after all of the animals were pulled before fundraising but it may still be a few weeks before we are able to get every animal out. In the meantime, we need to start spaying and neutering the bunnies to prepare the readily adoptable ones for their forever homes as well as keep up on supplies such as healthy pellets, fresh hay and fresh veggies for all of them and the existing animals already in our rescues.
