The idea behind the logo of sobergaymale is the chromosomes. Males are born with the XY chromosome pair. Since the Y chromosome is in charge of turning on the male genes, we isolated it in paratheses and assigned the letter G to denote that this Y chromosome is special. The "G" represents the gay allele that must exist in our DNA. It really is a timeless logo to represent the sober gay male. The goal is to create unity in sober gay males across the world.
Lambda Center Houston since 1978 has had their doors open to those in the LGTBQ community as well as friends and family to seek 12 step based recovery. Over 1000 guests come through the doors of the Center weekly. They seek recovery which leads ultimately to a far more peaceful and productive life.
