Man's justice is relative. It is dictated by the culture or government and based on the morals of the time. What was "just" 100 years ago in this country is not the same as what is considered "just" today. What is so fantastic about God's justice is that it is not relative. It does not change based on cultural influence or the opinions of man. God's justice has nothing to do with people getting what they "deserve," but the recognition that no one really "deserves" anything. The grace and redemption God offers us is not contingent on our behavior, but our acceptance. God's love says that all of us are given a second chance and that true justice would be for all to be redeemed. My prayer is that as we seek justice in this world that it would not be based solely on man's idea of what is just, but driven by a desire to see grace and redemption for all.
