On June 12th - an unspeakable tradgedy took place in Orlando, Florida. A person full of hate attacked an LGBT club in what became the largest mass shooting in American history.
Later that evening, the Broadway community gathered to celebrate a year of innovation, diversity and acceptance. Upon winning, Lin-Manuel Miranda, the composer, lyricist and current star of Hamilton: An American Musical - recited a sonnett he had written. In it was the passage "love is love is love is love is love is love" and it resonated well beyond the walls of the Beacon Theater.
In a time when we seem to be suffocated by hate - we must rise up in love. Only love can drive out hate as only light can drive out dark. Acceptance for one another is simply love.
ALL proceeds will be going directly to those affected by the tradgedy in Orlando.
