Over the last year the pavers around the sandbox area have really been falling apart. When we looked into a few quotes about replacing the pavers we realized that if we were going to put that amount of money into fixing them, maybe we should think about ways to improve that total area. Our current playground setup was built about 18 years ago. So, multiply 261 weekdays in a year by 18 years by about 50 children who play on it an average of twice a day, it’s no wonder it’s showing its age!
Some of the things that we want to look at are:
1. eliminating the multi-level sandbox system - it causes too many trips!
2. incorporating more water/mud play
3. improving the drainage
4. better storage
5. play area that the infants can utilize
6. more green space
