Full story

The addiction epidemic has been on the rise. There is hardly any one person I know who has NOT been affected by addiction in some facet. I, myself, have lost three people in the past year to addiction.

25% of the proceeds from this shirt will be donated to the current charity I am sponsored by: The Herren Project,

25% of the proceeds will be donated to the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention as mental well-being is a huge focus of MindOverSubstance,

and 50% of the proceeds will go into funding my very own non-profit, MindOverSubstance. It's still in it's beginning stages, but my goal is that one day it develops into a flourishing foundation that helps families and friends of, as well as, addicts themselves. First, by focusing on building a trusting and loving community. Second, by teaching everyone how to see signs of a developing addict before it turns into a situation where someone needs to be sent to rehab. Third, how to emotionally cope with the demons of addiction. And fourth, how to deal with the aftermath of not only addiction, but sobriety. So many people stop helping once the drug use is removed, however, the cause of and the want to use the drug still needs to be addressed.

With my foundation, I hope to fund others who are doing great things, so that they may continue to do better things; and also create and implement better education programs, predominantly in colleges where the party and drug culture is so popular and everyone shrugs it off as a "phase".
