My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 46 and fought it for 7 years before she passed away in 2014. When it metastasized to her brain and she was given a year to live, she took that opportunity to live her life to the fullest and serve everyone but herself. Despite our concerns and worries, she would pick up homeless people and take them to where they needed to go, help the less fortunate find jobs, and would witness to young teenagers at midnight in the wal-mart parking lot. She would always tell us, “God will take me when and how He wishes.”
I promised my mom before she passed that I would walk in the Susan G. Komen 3 day in her honor. She has been gone for 3.5 years and I am finally ready to fulfill this promise. All of the proceeds will go straight towards my fundraising goal. Thank y’all for everything - You ladies are the best!
