This is Dani, our 4 month old Golden Retriever. She has a rare condition. Both of her ureters are ectopic, which means the tubes from her kidneys to her bladder are not connected. She has to wear a diaper all the time and she suffers from recurring bladder infections.
Because she is so young we want to give her a better chance for a healthy life. She is a very sweet puppy, and very smart with her training. She is on the road to becoming a great therapy dog and will hopefully make lots of people happy.
We took her to an internal medicine veterinarian in Richmond, VA. After paying over $3000 for extensive testing to determine her condition, they are referring her to North Carolina State University's Veterinary Hospital. They are a teaching hospital with specialized equipment to treat her. Since she has two ectopic ureters the treatment is more complicated and the cost is higher. As with all medical procedures it is not guaranteed, but we would like to give her the chance to make her life better.
