Full story
The “Oh Deer” series began with the first piece, “Oh Deer, Full Court” (Reginald Baylor, 2014, Acrylic on eleven canvas panels, 144in x 84in) as a tribute to history and Robert Indiana’s original MECCA floor and a testament to the future of both the Bucks organization and the city of Milwaukee as a whole. Half the proceeds from the sale of the “Oh Deer, Full Court” were donated to TRUE Skool.
Through the passage of time, local events, and shared conversation, the series has refined itself into a thesis on the relationship between sports and the creative industry.
Very often, the two are considered incompatible or even at odds. Upon closer inspection, we find that athletics and creativity share more than first perceived, and engrain themselves within their fans and practitioners alike, using the same shared human experiences and emotions.
What will start with t-shirts and other wearable merchandise is expected to grow into other household and collectible items.
