Owl & Panther is an expressive arts program that works with refugee survivors of torture, trauma and traumatic dislocation and their families who have been resettled in Tucson, AZ. Through words, art and trips into nature, members of OP’s intergenerational group share with each other and the community. The outcomes include a boost in literacy and confidence. Through the safe, nurturing group experiences, they grow a sense of belonging that helps them heal.
Our youth’s public sharing impacts our community and beyond by building awareness of why refugees are in our midst. We hope that through this outreach, the families we serve will experience a more welcoming community.
