Panda was rescued from the pound and unknowingly had heartworms! We are trying to get him into treatment as soon as possible so more damage isn't done to his body!! Anything helps!! Panda was rescued and has learned to alert to some of my many medical conditions (such as heart rate problems) that keeps me safe! But now it's time to keep Panda safe!! Panda had his first visit with Palmetto yesterday and turns out he has heartworms pretty badly she said there was NO way he didn't have them when we got him. The only safe option for him to be treated is going to cost us $900. He is on antibiotics right now and will have his first round of treatment June 4th. He has to stay on cage rest from that point forward for about 6 weeks. This was our only option as he had them much worse than we thought he did. It makes me so sad because the paperwork the shelter gave us said he was negative but i have had 3 vets now tell me that there is no way he was negative when we got him. Meaning that test result we were given was false. BUT $900 is a lot of money.
