I created this design to raise funds and help the wildlife and fire reliefs in Australia. It depicts a girl (with her little coquí friend) sheltering a koala with a Puerto Rican flag. I wanted my Aussie friends to know that they're not alone, and that help can come from even the tiniest of islands, like my Puerto Rico. As someone who was affected by natural disasters before, the dire situation in Australia truly hit home to me. Up to 480 million animals have died so far, pushing many endemic species towards extinction, including 1/3 of the koala population, due to the air quality measurements reading up to 20 times above hazardous levels. The feeling of helplessness fuels my art, and I will do whatever I can to help those in need. That's why I'll donate all proceeds to the Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors, a nonprofit organization established in 2002 by none other than Steve and Terri Irwin. So far, the incredible Irwin family has treated more than 90,000 animals affected by these fires. Help me contribute to their cause and save as many lives as we can. Thank you.
