Read for Equality began as a service project with two 12 year olds. The girls chose books to share in a book club to help younger students understand that diversity is a beautiful thing.   This will be a book club that focuses on diverse characters, and creating a safe space for children to ask questions and discuss race.  The book club at Mullen-Hall will be via zoom and will most likely begin in November.

They decided they wanted to do more!

They want to raise money to purchase books with diverse characters for the Mullen-Hall Library.  They are hopeful to raise enough money to purchase books for all 4 elementary schools in Falmouth, MA.  They are also open to making the project larger to reach more elementary schools.  (This depends on the success of their fundraising efforts.)
