Full story

We lost Robbie to suicide in February 2017. We miss him every day. No one expected his story to end on this tragic note.  Last year, I spoke on remembering his legacy at the Out of the Darkness Walk.  His life was lived to the fullest and for others.  He did not sulk or feel sorry for himself.  He hid his pain and gave joy and kindness to all he met. He wants us to remember that version of himself, but we can't forget the hidden pain that he carried that ultimately made him feel so low that he just wanted it to end. If we do, then we risk it continuing to happen.  We need to use our voices and our love for Robbie to help spread the word on the signs of possible suicidal thoughts.  We need to know how to recognize it and how to respond. This is a big part of what the American Foundation for Suicide Awareness is doing.  They are working on college campuses and in schools to increase awareness and to reverse this awful increase in the number of youth suicides especially.

Please consider purchasing a t-shirt to Remember Robbie and to remind yourself that we need to follow his example and work for a better world.  Talk about him and about this issue.  Maybe the shirt will spark a conversation that saves a life. You never know.  The proceeds from the shirt sales will be applied directly to the team fundraising efforts for this year's Out of the Darkness walk. Thank you.
