We are Northwest Rescue and Therapy Dogs
https://nwtherapydogs.com/
We are dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of dogs of all breeds in public shelters where they are at high risk of euthanasia due to pet overpopulation. We focus our efforts on relieving the burden of overcrowding on high-kill shelters in California. And, while we do rescue all breeds, our main focus are the breeds and individual dogs that have the hardest time getting adopted from the shelters. We take in medical cases, fearful un-socialized dogs, seniors and pit bulls.
We also partner with and support our local shelters by donating, fostering, and networking their dogs.
We believe Spay & Neutering is the main solution to pet overpopulation. All dogs are fixed before adopted out from us. We keep informative brochures on the importance of Spay & Neuter at business locations throughout Sequim.
We advocate for a No-Kill Policy nationwide, believing that every dog deserves a home. To that end, we also advocate against Breed Specific Legislation, a policy sweeping our nation that unjustly targets animals based on their breed, instead of their individual personalities.
We utilize a home based foster network to house rescued animals before we adopt them out to their forever homes. Each dog is fostered for a period determined by that dog’s particular needs as assessed by the rescue and foster parents. We do our best to make sure that any dog we do rescue does not end up homeless again. Each dog’s medical, behavioral, and social issues are dealt with as best as we can before adopting them out to their forever home.
We provide full financial transparency and 100% of all donations go to fulfilling our Mission Statement.
Thank you for your support. We truly appreciate it.
