Hi, my name is Kate and I am the owner of Salty Jungle. I raise exotic amphibians such as
poison dart frogs, tree frogs, and others. I also create custom vivariums with appropriate plants,
water features, etc. for customers to maintain healthy amphibious pets.
I have loved dart frogs since my childhood. This love has evolved from owning plastic models
to raising and breeding a variety of frogs and geckos. For well over a decade I have been
building and refining homes for frogs, learning to grow appropriate plants, and efficient ways to
grow proper insects to feed them.
After years of raising frogs as a hobby while working corporate jobs (including dog training,
package delivery, etc.) I found it necessary for my physical health to find something less
physically demanding. So I have decided to follow my passion, so I started Salty Jungle. At Salty
Jungle I provide what anyone would need to raise exotic amphibians. Whether a beginner or
experienced hobbyist I can provide what is needed for appropriate care and feeding of your
amphibians. I build vivariums, grow and sell feed insects, and sell kits for anyone to grow their
own insects.
Along with providing an income for myself, my goal is to help reduce the importing of frogs
from their natural environment. The mortality rate of imported frogs is quite high. Professionals
and hobbyists are working together to reduce the depletion of frog populations in their native
habitats. Frogs bred in captivity have a better survival rate than imported frogs. I would also love
to help educate the public about poison dart frogs.
Currently I sell my products at Reptile shows in Utah, surrounding states, and online.My long
term goal is a pet store where customers can check out the products and get hands on
