In case you don't know me, allow me to introduce myself! My name is Meaghan, but I choose to go by Meg, because it is easier to spell and I feel like it is a little more artsy. Now that we have been introduced I wil continue on with my story and why I have chosen to do this t-shirt campaign!

My DREAM has been to attend Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) for 3 years now, but alas, life's circumstances got in the way and I do believe and trust that it was all God's timing.  After highschool, my dream was to be a dentist. I just loved seeing people smile and it quickly became my passion. I went to school to be a dental assistant in Florida and absolutely loved it. I had the opportunity to work with some amazing dentists, specialists, and patients. After a few years I decided to go back to school to pursue my career as a dentist. I was working at a dental office during the day and going to school at night to achieve my dream.  I had almost completed one semester and the day before the final exam, I was in a very severe car accident. To make an extremely long story short, the injuries I sustained put me in ICU with a long journey ahead.  The biggest injury to overcome was that I shattered my ankle into 23 peices. The sugeon wanted to amputate my foot, however, thank the Lord, they were able to put humpty dumpty back together again. I was unable to walk for about 9 months and had physical therapy for a little over a year. Today I am able to walk again!! I am so thankful. But, I can only walk or stand for a short period of time. So that meant that I had to step away from my dream of being a dentist, because trust me, they do more that sit on a stool by your chair at the office all day! It is a physically demanding job and the injuries I sustained wouldn't allow me to follow that path.  But hey, I am still alive, right?!

During the time of my healing and physical therapy, I needed something to do; I could only watch so many movies. So one day I asked my mom to pick up a sketch book and a pack of colored pencils from the store. I started drawing things that I saw in my house from my chair and discovered, hey!, I'm actually not that bad. Drawing turned to painting, which turned into creating thisngs on the computer for my church and a local art gallery.  The president of the art gallery introduced me to a professor at Santa Fe College in Gainesville, Florida and told me about a career in Graphic Design. Honetsly, I had never even heard of it! I prayed and trusted that the Lord showed me not only the creative spirit inside of me that I had no clue about, but that he orchestrated this to happen. I had found a career that my ankle could handle. Not only that, but I had just enough money left for 2 years of tuition with the Florida Pre-Paid College Fund my grandparents set up for me when I was 4 years old. What a blessing!! I enrolled that next semester in Fall of 2013, had a blast, and graduated with a degree in Graphic Deisgn in 2015.

Now after 3 years, I am ready to go to SCAD for my BFA in Advertising! The hard part is, it is out of state, and is a private art school. I have applied for many scholarships but have A LOT more to cover. SO that is why I decided on this T-shirt Campaign. I felt liek the words were perfect. DREAM. BELIEVE. ACHIEVE. I know from experience, that if you believe with your whole heart, you can achieve any dream you have! Simple, right?! Easier said than done, I know. But trust me, it can be done!

So will you help me achieve my dream of going to SCAD? The last thing I like to do is ask for money, but hey, you get a pretty cool tshirt designed by me! So wear it loud, and wear it proud. Because I know you have a dream too. DREAM it. BELIEVE it. ACHIEVE it.

Thank you for reading my story!

Love,

Meg
