Hunted for their meat and protective scales, which are used in traditional medicine, the pangolin is in grave danger of being pushed to extinction before we truly understand these gentle animals.
The main markets are in Vietnam and China. ENV Wildlife Conservation Trust are working hard to save pangolins by tackling the illegal wildlife trade head on in the front line in Vietnam, a nation that is a supplier, consumer and transit state for the criminal networks involved in wiping out the pangolin. We do this through reducing consumer demand, campaigning to improve animal protection legislation and actively assisting law enforcement agencies to bring violators to justice.
