Full story
This team is for Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. We’ve formed this team and started this fundraiser in honor of Pasquale Rocchio. If you know him, I know you love him. If not, let me tell you he is a father and grandfather. He is also our family historian - being the eldest of the Rocchio clan. While able, he was active in genealogy and helped connect our family to other distant family members and descendants of the village of Gallo Matese, Italy. He is a graduate of Notre Dame as well as Ball State. He was a Capitol police officer for a short time. He went on to write for the Kokomo Tribune and served as their City Editor for many years. He wrote for other newspapers. He taught college classes. He is a writer and a brilliant painter and artist. He is still ALL these things and more but Alzheimer’s is robbing him of his ability to communicate his thoughts and emotions. My aunt, his wife Sharon, selflessly and tirelessly cares for him and all his needs. It’s hard to find anyone not affected by this cruel disease. Please help us in this fight!
Join our team and/or come walk with us in Chicago, share posts, donate and/or fundraise with us in honor of my uncle and everyone suffering.
Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer's! Please buy a shirt and share our fundraiser!
