Approximately 6 weeks ago our friend and sister Dorothy was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Of course, we were devastated by the news. But even in the midst of chemotherapy and all its ugly side effects, Dorothy was most concerned that her family was okay, because family has always been her priority. Service is also an important part of Dot’s life, as it is for all of Harry and Hattie Bowman’s children. For more than 55 years Dot has served her church and her community as an educator, music director, church organizer and gentle, caring friend.

 Lately Dot has faced a lot of challenges. After her only son, Craig, was shot and killed in a senseless murder, she moved to Alabama to help care for her grandchildren, Kendyl and Chris and assist her daughter-in-law Rhonda. She’s dedicated herself to meeting their needs and still has made time to go back to Rochester when her siblings need her. Dot does this because of her loving spirit. Now Dot needs us.

 Fighting cancer is costly.
