Lily is 10 years old and was recently dianosed with Autisum Spectrum Disorder. I have been fighting to get her dianosed since she was 9 months old. Doctor and teachers always told me she's just delayed with sensory issues and will out grow this devlopment delay. Wasn't until her IEP slowly started to go down and I was worried for her. I called around like before and no one would take her because of insurance and needed referral. Finally, I called Iowa City and told them my concerns and what school was doing with her IEP, they sent for her referrals to dr and teacher. After days of testing for learning disabilty we learned she has ASD. Now, I'm trying to come up with money to pay for her interventing that cost $200-$300 a session.. If she would of got the dianose and help when I told doctors long ago she wouldn't be stuggling the way she is now.
