Criss, Stephanie’s daughter:

“To begin this journey again, is indescribable. Our world has been shaken, once again.” 

Direct results from the oncologists report:

Unfortunately, this is wide spread colorectal cancer which cannot be cured. In some instances,

we use local therapies to provide local control, but the overall goals of therapy are palliative: to

prolong life, and improve symptoms. Since therapy is not curative, quality of life must be taken

into account.  Untreated overall survival is 3-6 months, and 2-3 years with treatment.

“We begin this second journey with a better mindset and healthier lifestyle than last time. We

pray this will lead us to a non-statistical outcome. We pray her young age plays a positive role.

We pray strength, heeling, and hope. We beat this once. And we pray to defy the odds and

defeat this again. We believe in the power of prayer.”

Started by her friends and colleagues at the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, their hope for this

fundraiser is to help Stephanie and Shaylie have less to worry about financially and allow more

energy for Stephanie to focus on treatment and getting well.  In doing this fundraiser with the

broad social media avenues provided via EPSO, the EPSO Foundation, Shield616, and other law

enforcement agencies, we hope to gain overwhelming financial support from those that “Back

the Blue” nationwide.
