I thought of what I would tell my children if we were White, why are we not considered "People of Color?" I couldn't answer that except to say, it's politically correct. This is unacceptable to me and offensive because we are in essence saying to little Johnny, you are a person of color because your skin is dark but Jane isn't because her skin is White. Well, any child who's seen a rainbow or a box of crayons knows that nonsense! In fact, all colors are derivative of the color white in which case white cannot be excluded. Therefore, using this expression can cause confusion and feelings of indifference, especially amoung our innocent children. As a result, I want to erase this expression from our vocabulary because, in my opinion, it does little in the way of uniting us across the racial divide here in America.
