Hello,My name is Jessica Gill. Tiffany and I are premedical students at the University at Buffalo. We have recently been given the amazing opportunity to travel Lima, Peru this May to provide healthcare to those who don't get 24/7 access to care. All money that we fundraise will be used to go towards our flights and our program fees (food, housing, and in country transportation). Although this money will be used to help us pay for these trips, we like to consider it amoney that is going to the country we will travel to. Without fundraising, we will unfortunately not be able to afford going and will have to resign our spot from these programs. As a result, the program will be seeing two less people for the week and less health care will be provided. Last year, we were able to go to Esteli, Nicaragua. This has been one of the most influential experiences in our lives and we am forever grateful to have gone. In three days of medical bridge, we was able to help over 800 people be seen by a doctor for the first time in their lives. We hope to be able to bring this same quality and extent of care to Peru. By helping us afford our fees, you are helping us to be able to provide care for countries that unfortunately do not get the extent of health care that we see on a day to day basis in the United States. We hope to one day, when we are doctors, to travel the world and help developing countries get the health care that they deserve. We are beyond grateful to anybody who donates to this cause. Even the smallest purchases will make a great impact on these communities. Words cannot thank you all enough for everything. For any questions regarding the program, please view this link for International Volunteer HQ - IVHQ. https://www.volunteerhq.org/volunteer-abroad-projects/medical-and-health/ We would also like to thank IVHQ for making this all possible. It is amazing that people work so hard to help get volunteers safely around the world. We have also attached some photos from my previous brigade in Nicaragua where we spent three days working in a medical clinic and two days building latrines to increase the quality of public health in Nicaragua.
