The Penny Project is an effort to support women in early recovery to regain their lives. The project's goal is to provide housing for females struggling with addiction who could not afford to receive help any other way. The project was begun by members of the REINS model equine therapy team, which is made up of therapists who specialize in treating people struggling with addiction and trauma after repeatedly coming into contact with females who were unable to obtain safe, secure housing in which they could learn basic life skills, learn to effectively treat their addiciton, and become productive members of society.
