During my training at BFF conferences, I quickly realized that out of thousands of people, there were not a lot that were men and definitley not black.  Immediately I realized our furry friends were missing the attention of men and black people in general. The thought of a black man in animal rescue for cats was almost unheard of.  Over the last 3 years working as a Community Cat Coordinator; working with companies such as Best Friends, Planned PetHood, LifeLine Animal Project, and Pawsitive Supporters, I was able to see where I could help make a difference.  I saw amongst my peers the way a different approach changed the usually, "not cool" or "nasty/sneaky" cats become the "cool cats" or "clean and lovable" pets that they are.  With a music-to-catman story and a passion for TNR to match, I intend to engage more men in animal rescue while making the tougher and harder to reach neighborhoods more aware of how to care for and manage their feral cat colonies.
