On New Year's Eve, my step-father and inspiration, passed away at the young age of 40. He was my mother's best friend and soulmate, and we both feel inclined to pursue a dream that we all longed to do together as a family. My mother and step-father worked together in the ER for several years, and their love for medicine and helping others inspired me to want to do the same. There is something so fulfilling about being able to help somebody, even if it's in the smallest way. That is why we are trying to raise money to visit Uganda on a medical mission trip with Rescue Hope. Even just giving somebody a hug who has never been hugged before, would fill our hearts with content. While we are never ones to ask for hand-outs, we are left tight on money since there was no will or life insurance, as well as having significant legal fees for ongoing probate case. The cost of airfare, immunizations, and ground expenses for the both of us are significant, especially for the both of us to go. We don't want to let this stop us from doing something that we genuinely feel the need to do: save and love others. We want to make Terry proud. We know that it will help us with the grieving process to be able to see how fortunate we are with the life we live, even if our hearts feel like they're shattered to bits. If you could help us fulfill this dream even in the smallest way, we would be one step closer to being able to touch the hearts of so many. We thank you with everything in our hearts.
