STUDENTS CHANGE THE WORLD

In 1980, students of MIT (Peter Diamandis, Todd Hawley, Robert Richards) and Princeton (Scott Scharfman) and Yale (Richard Sorkin) started what will become the largest student-run organization in the world, The Students for the Exploration and Development of Space. (SEDS)

SEDS was instrumental for the creation the International Space University.

THE INTERNATIONAL SPACE UNIVERSITY (ISU) 

is an institution of higher education, professional development, and research with a mission to prepare individuals to respond to the current needs and evolving demands of the space sector as well as forward the development of applications of space technology in a rapidly changing world. ISU provides graduate-level training at the Center Campus in Strasbourg, France and in locations around the world in an interdisciplinary, international and intercultural learning environment.

Since it's foundation in 1987, ISU has graduated more than 4000 alumni from over 100 countries. Together with hundreds of ISU faculty and lecturers from around the world, ISU alumni comprise an expanding, tight-knit network of space professionals and leaders that actively facilitates individual career growth, promotion of professional activities and international cooperation.

The overwhelming majority of the world's new space ventures are formulated and led by ISU's Alumni.

WE, THE FOUNDERS of the International Space University, do hereby set forth this Credo as the basis for fulfilling ISU's goals and full potential. 

INTERNATIONAL SPACE UNIVERSITY is an institution founded on the vision of a peaceful, prosperous and boundless future through the study, exploration and development of Space for the benefit of all humanity. ISU is an institution dedicated to international affiliations, collaboration, and open, scholarly pursuits related to outer space exploration and development. It is a place where students and faculty from all backgrounds are welcomed; where diversity of culture, philosophy, lifestyle, training and opinion are honored and nurtured.

ISU is an institution which recognizes the importance of interdisciplinary studies for the successful exploration and development of space. ISU strives to promote an understanding and appreciation of the Cosmos through the constant evolution of new programs and curricula in relevant areas of study. To this end, ISU will be augmented by an expanding base of campus facilities, networks and affiliations both on and off the Earth. 

ISU is an institution dedicated to the development of the human species, the preservation of its home planet, the increase of knowledge, the rational utilization of the vast resources of the Cosmos, and the sanctity of Life in all terrestrial and extraterrestrial manifestations. 

ISU is a place where students and scholars seek to understand the mysteries of the Cosmos and apply their knowledge to the betterment of the human condition. It is the objective of ISU to be an integral part of Humanity's movement into the Cosmos, and to carry forth all the principles and philosophies embodied in this Credo.

THIS, THEN, IS THE CREDO OF ISU. For all who join ISU, we welcome you to a new and growing family. It is hoped that each of you, as leaders of industry, academia and government will work together to fulfill the goals set forth herein. Together, we shall aspire to the Stars with wisdom, vision and effort.

IT HAS BEEN 31 YEARS SINCE ISU FIRST BEGAN. IT IS TIME TO START THE CREATION OF THE 1ST CAMPUS IN ORBIT.

GOAL: To raise 1 billion in funds to initiate the start of building the 1st University in Orbit.

WHEN THE CAMPAIGN ENDS?

***In January 2020, my goal is to present the proposal for a campus in orbit, including the campaign results and earnings to the Board of Trustees of the International Space University and the Boards of the Xprize Foundation.***

I cannot help but to think of the future when I look at the younger generation. My nieces, nephews, my students, my friends' kids, the youth in my neighborhood and the ones in 3rd world countries, I mean really all over the world, so many of them.

Space entrepreneurs are not going to quit, we shouldn't either. Uniting the general public to the New Space Economy is important to establishing an intergalactic society. We will continue to explore the stars for as long as the human race lives and it is crucial that we prepare the generations to follow.
